Oceania Hockey Federation (OHF) is pleased to announce that the Solomon Islands will be hosting an FIH World Youth Hockey 5s Festival which will take place in Honiara from the 9th – 12th of December. This initiative is part of the FIH Olympic Solidarity Youth Athlete Development Programme 2025.

This camp will be female only as part of OHF’s strategy of promoting opportunities for Women and Girls, in particular amplifying women’s coaching and officiating. Athletes, youth leaders/officials, and coaches have been selected from each participating nation to attend.

The objectives of the camp will be to deliver an international programme of activity, knowledge sharing & education. Programmes for Umpires, Coaches, and Leadership particularly for young people, will run in parallel with all athlete development activities.

The programme is underpinned by the Olympic values education programme, which includes individual social development and future career development education. Participants will be attending a mix of skills based sessions and workshops, while making new connections with peoples from across the Pacific.

Amy Ryan, FIH Educator (Australia), Tsonelo Pholo, Hong Kong national women’s coach (South Africa), Gill Gemming, FIH Trainer (NZ) and Kirsten Stuckey FIH Educator (NZ) will be leading the program and mentoring the coaches and youth leaders.

This programme would not be possible without the support of the FIH, Olympic Solidarity, and the Solomon Islands Hockey Federation.
