Youth showcasing Sport 4 Development
International Sport 4 Development Day was on April 6th and celebrated in New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Each group showed their support for the concepts of inclusion, breaking down barriers to play, and acceptance of diversity, by holding up white cards which are the international symbol of recognition.

In Tauranga, New Zealand coaches attending the FIH L1 Coach workshop, held a short discussion on how sport impacts communities and people’s lives, and how as Coaches they could make a positive difference.
The Hook in4 Health teams in Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu worked with youth to provide opportunities to play. Solomon Islands used different fun activities to engage youth while the PNG staff joined with other Team Up programs at the Taurama Swimming Pool Complex to provide a variety of activities. Vanuatu’s afterschool children’s program had an integrated hockey and health session.
