The Team in Papua New Guinea have extended beyond city boundaries in both Port Moresby and Lae.

Late last year Mapos 1 village community leader Phillip Lisick, whose family had a long history in hockey in the Morobe Province, invited Hook in4 Health to bring their program to his village. Mapos is part of the Bulolo District, 91 kilometers west of Lae. The people of the Bulolo District have a population of 20,000 and inhabit nearly 30 villages in the Highlands.

The team arrived in Mapos on Saturday November 8 and delivered programs for 3 days.

The sessions were integrated hockey with health and nutrition, and the community easily adopted the Live Well, Learn Well,

Lead Well concept. As a result of the success of the initial visit, the Hook in4 Health team have been invited and encouraged to make more regular visits in 2026, as Phillip Lisick ‘could see it as a real opportunity to nurture and nourish the younger generation in Mapos 1 Village.’ The first of these visits is now underway from the 9th to 14th March.

The Port Moresby Team met with the Taurama Madai Community in April of 2025 and began to visit regularly to work with a group of youth who did not attend school. In 2026 a new school has been established with 40 students between the ages of 3 and 13. The Hook in4 Health Team have met with the 4 teachers and given them training on the use of the My Hockey Journal so that the Live Well, Learn Well, Lead Well concept can be utilised in the classroom by the teaching staff. The Hin4H team will visit every week to support the staff by providing practical activities for the students have put in place to visit every week for the rest of the year.

The Carr Memorial Adventist School in Port Moresby has had hockey sessions over the past 2 years. For 2026 the success of these sessions has led to confirmed ongoing commitment from both the school and the Hin4H Team to facilitate weekly visits, for grades 6 and 7 on Wednesdays and Fridays, beginning in the second week of March.
