Successful Combined Workshop in Papua New Guinea

Published Tue 16 Aug 2022

As three major hockey areas were being visited by Hook in4 Health (Hin4H) staff to promote the objectives of their program, it was appropriate to bring all three centers together over zoom to both provide information about Hook in4 Health as well as an opportunity for the local associations to ask questions about general hockey activities.

Ray Lapun In-Country for Hin4H Papua New Guinea organised the workshop groups and Gill Gemming Oceania CDO and Project Manager for Hin4H hosted the online presentations.

Dr Kathryn Jackson, Flinders University spoke about the Hin4H partners and specifically the 2 areas that Flinders University provided expertise in.

After the discuassion and questions on Hin4H Gill talked about the Pacific Games 2023 in the Solomon Islands and the need for PNGHF to begin their process of selection of management and players.

All three areas were well attended and it was tramendous to see the combination of both local hockey committee members and teachers from the schools that had been visited during the outreach visits over the past week. As a result of discussion it was clear that workshops for teachers were a key requirement that needed to be planned.
