Samoa Re-engages with the Sport of Hockey

President Faamausili Taiva Ah Young has been influential in resurrecting his committee and engaged with Oceania Hockey to create new opportunities to play.

Although there hs been a break Samoa has faced this in the past and has quickly become competitive again. This was shown in 2017 at Oceania Cup Hockey 5s in Sydney where both men's and women's teams took out silver medals even though it was their first introduction to a Hockey 5s event.

Oceania Hockey Federation Board have resolved to support this re-engagement by funding a part time Development Officer who will work in schools to promote the game and to introduce new levels of competition. The process for this appointment is currently happening.
