Pacific Games 2023 - New Surface Started

A legacy from the Pacific Games will be a purpose built Hockey5s pitch, which will be the first of its kind in Oceania. This will be a great asset for the Solomon Islands Hockey Federation which has not had its own venue before and has often had to suspend its playing opportunities while it waited for a ground to be free.

It was hoped that the Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier could be held there as a test event but unfortunately FIH has a window for the qualifiers, and the hand over of the facility, will be outside that window. However, it is important to respect the Games Organising Committee timelines, as they need to ensure that the facility is fully completed.
