Published Thu 23 Jun 2022

The AGM was held online with delegates representing all eight member nations. Fiji was the exception in that they were able to be face to face with OHF CDO Gill Gemming in Nadi who had represented OHF at the ONOC/OSFO conferences between the 2nd and 6th of May.

THe 2022 Board is: President Clare Prideaux, Vice President Nihal Seneviratne, Secretary General David Peebles, Board Members: Baden Sharp, Michelle Hollands, Andy Rowe, and Emi Nawaqakuta.

Bob Claxton who became the Secretary General in 2007 retired from the Board at this AGM. Bob's contribution over this time has been immense, notably in the financial management and relationship building between FIH and the member nations. The meeting expressed their thanks to Bob by conferring an OHF Life Membership. Dr Robin Mitchell, long term Fiji Hockey Federation President was also conferred with a Life Membership.

The new Board, chairs of OHF Committees and Committee Representatives  who live in New Zealand met together between the 12th and 15th May in Auckland. The Trans Tasman Women's series was held during this time and both CEO's from Australia and New Zealand were present. This enabled the OHF Board to meet with both CEO's to discuss a wide range of topics.

On the 13th May OHF held a Strategy Workshop to review its key priorities and objectives going forward through the next two years. Part of the strategy was a two hour online meeting with the six Pacific Islands Nations so that they had a voice in the strategy discussions. A key outcome was the appointment of OHF Board Member and Fiji President Emi Nawaqakuta to chair a regular Pacific Island Hockey Federation Forum.

As a result of the discussion the 4 Key Pillars were established: Grow and Engage; Quality Events; Partnerships; Organisational Strength, (see above). Each committee now has the responsibility of looking at these Pillars and identifying the key priorities within their own specific area.
