Junior World Cup Qualifier

Both countries were guaranteed qualification into the JWC (Mens in Kuala Lumpur, Women's in Chile) in 2023 because Oceania had 2 quotas for each gender. The event was open to all Oceania affiliated countries but the Pacific Islands with their major tournament - the Pacific Games to also be held in 2023, their focus has been on Hockey 5s. The qualifying event is important to both countries to provide an opportunity for the next generation of players to experience the intensity of a qualification series to prepare them for the actual QWorld Cup event.

The final results were:

Men: Thursday 8th Aus 4, NZL 2, Saturday 10th Aus 4, NZL 4, Sunday 12th Aus 5, NZL 1.

Women: Thursday 8th Aus 2, NZL 2, Saturday 10th Aus 4, NZL 2, Sunday 12th Aus 3, NZL 0.
