Fortuitous Meeting proves a Benefit to Solomon Islands Hockey
Published Tue 13 Dec 2022
Robyn Godfrey is working in Honiara and part of her position's expectation is that personnel 'give back' to their local community. With a long background in hockey as a player and more recently in the Officials sphere Robyn is perfectly suited to advance the umpiring and technical officials abilities within the Solomon Islands Hockey Community.
Robyn has attended several sessions where the national squads are training and playing and her experience and knowledge of the rules is also helpful to the players. They increase their understanding of how an umpire interprets rules.
The feedback from Winkie Yee, President of Solomon Islands Hockey Federation, has been really positive towards the impact that Robyn has made in just a couple of sessions.
The majority of games on Sunday have been held at Woodford International School. This has also resulted in a weekly hockey program with children attending the school as seen in the photo
