CDO Visit to Solomon Islands

The five day visit made by the CDO was extremely busy but was also a positive opportunity to re-rengage with the SI hockey community.

Gill was able to have a conducted tour through the high performance centre SINIS, where currently 48 hockey participants are engaged four days a week training intensely towards selection to represent SI at the Pacific Games 2023.

All these participants are regularly playing on Sundays forming 4 teams which play 2 games per afternoon.

A key meeting held was with the Pacific Games Organisaing Committee to review progress on all of the required detail to run a successful Hockey 5s Event in December 2023 . the above photo shows the site where a dedicated Hockey 5s pitch will be built by May 2023.
